Connect Google Analytics to Adalyst

Connect a Google Analytics 4 property to Adalyst to see landing pages, traffic sources and on-site behaviour next to your ad spend. Read only.

Updated

Adalyst connects to Google Analytics 4 with read-only access through the same Google approval as Google Ads. It adds landing page, source and medium, campaign, device, location and event totals to your analysis, and never changes your property.

Before you begin

  • You are a workspace admin in Adalyst. Only admins can connect, disconnect or switch accounts on.
  • Your Google user can view the GA4 property you want to connect.

How to connect

  1. Open Connections

In Adalyst, open Settings, then Connections, and find Google Analytics under Analytics.

  2. Approve Google's consent screen

Choose a Google user that can view your property. One Google approval covers both Google Analytics and Google Ads.

  3. Switch on your property

Expand Google Analytics and switch on the GA4 property that covers the website you advertise. You can switch on more than one.

  4. Check the first sync

The card shows Connected and each property shows its last sync time. The first sync covers the last 90 days.

Questions

What does Adalyst use Google Analytics for?

Site traffic and behaviour totals: landing pages, source and medium, campaigns, devices, locations and events. They help explain why performance changed. They are totals, not records of individual visitors, so they are not matched to specific contacts or deals.

Does Adalyst change anything in Google Analytics?

No. Adalyst uses read-only Analytics access and never changes tags, events, audiences or property settings.

Which property should I connect?

The one covering the same websites and markets as your connected advertising and CRM data. A mismatched property gives an incomplete picture.

How do I disconnect Google Analytics?

Google Analytics shares its Google approval with Google Ads, so disconnecting Google Ads disconnects both. To stop using one property, switch it off in the Google Analytics card.

Troubleshooting

My property is not listed
Check that your Google user can view the property in Google Analytics, then reconnect from the Google Ads card so Adalyst fetches the list again.
