Adalyst connects to Salesforce through Salesforce's own sign-in and only reads data. It uses leads, opportunities, stages and activity to connect advertising to pipeline and revenue, and never creates, updates or deletes Salesforce records.
Before you begin
- You are a workspace admin in Adalyst. Only admins can connect, disconnect or switch accounts on.
- Your Salesforce user has API access and can read leads, opportunities, accounts, tasks and events.
How to connect
Open Connections
In Adalyst, open Settings, then Connections, and find Salesforce under CRM.
Sign in to Salesforce
Sign in with the Salesforce user described above.
Approve access
Review Salesforce's authorisation screen. Adalyst returns you to Connections and starts the first sync, which covers the last 365 days.
Review Mapping
Open Settings, then Mapping, to confirm which Salesforce opportunity stages count as open, won or lost, and how lifecycle stages are read.
Questions
What does Adalyst read from Salesforce?
Leads, opportunities and their stages, the accounts linked to those opportunities, contact roles on opportunities, record owners, tasks and events, and field history. It does not read contact records themselves beyond the roles attached to opportunities.
Does Adalyst write to Salesforce?
No. Adalyst only reads from Salesforce and never creates, updates or deletes records.
What if I also connect HubSpot?
Mapping lists each CRM's deal and lifecycle stages under that CRM's name, so stages with similar names stay distinct.
How do I disconnect Salesforce?
Open Settings, then Connections, and disconnect Salesforce. Adalyst stops synchronising and removes its stored tokens; nothing changes in Salesforce. Data already synced stays in your workspace. To also remove the authorisation on the Salesforce side, revoke Adalyst from your Salesforce connected apps.
Troubleshooting
- Some opportunities or activity are missing
- Adalyst sees only what the connecting Salesforce user can read. Reconnect with a user that can read the missing records.
